A 2012 recording by Thomas Hengelbrock, principal conductor of the prestigious North German Radio Symphony Orchestra. It couples Dvořák's Fourth Symphony, the little-known masterpiece among his nine symphonies, with the Czech Suite. The recording features light and colorful woodwinds, lively and articulated string parts in opposing positions, and an astonishing performance that transforms the massive North German Radio Symphony Orchestra into a completely new orchestra as the three-dimensional and transparent orchestral sound rises to the surface.
