The Dausgaard disc is the first among the many masterpieces of the symphony. The new recording of the Symphony No. 3 is highly anticipated! The recording uses the first draft of the Norwach edition of the original version from 1873. I first became acquainted with the symphony in the third (1889) draft, but when I went back to the original 1873 score, it was in perfect harmony with itself, and its unique, experimental style shone through from beginning to end.
