Two little-known concertos by the Polish Late Romantic, Feliks Nowowiejski! Two concertos by the late Polish Romantic composer, conductor, teacher, and organist Feliks Nowowiecki, who studied composition with Max Bruch in Berlin, served as artistic director of the Cracow Art Association, and settled in Poznan after Polish independence, where he lived until after World War II. The piano concerto \"Slavic\" (original title: Slowianski\/ English title: Slavic), which uses light Slavic-style material and leisurely showcases the virtuosity of the late Romantic period. Dedicated to the famous Polish cellist Dziedeliusz Danczowski (1891-1950), this cello concerto is in three movements, which was rare in Polish music of the interwar period. The dense dialogue between soloist and orchestra in a style similar to the Sinfonia Concertante, is well supported by the virtuoso musicians Ukas Borovich \u0026amp; the Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra.The last movement of the Cello Concerto is recorded in both the first and second (revised) editions. Jacek Koltus, the soloist in the piano concerto, is a pianist who was a finalist in the 2005 International Chopin Piano Competition, which Brehach won. Bartosz Korczak, who controls the instrument owned by the premiere performer Dziedeliusz Danczowski in the cello concerto, is a Polish virtuoso who has won the first prize at the Lutosławski International Cello Competition (2001) and a special prize at the Prague Spring International Music Competition (2006), among other prizes.
