With its distinctive feature of placing concertos at the center of its program, the competition has earned a reputation for fair and reliable management and the warm hospitality of its citizens, and has been a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions since 2005. The 8th Competition Violin Section was held from May 21 to June 4, 2023, and 37 talented young musicians, who passed the preliminary screening out of 135 applicants, gathered in Sendai from all over the world to give enthusiastic performances. The prize for the winner was a CD recording, which was made about a year after the competition, and which shows the \"present\" Rina Nakano, who has already performed in many concerts. ＜Rina Nakano was born in 2004 in Tokyo, Japan, and started playing the violin at the age of 3. From April 2023, she will be enrolled in the \"Soloist Diploma Course\" at the Toho Gakuen School of Music, and from September at the City University of the Arts Vienna. She is currently studying under Akiko Tatsumi and Kalvai Dalibor. In 2014, she won the first prize at the 68th All Japan Student Music Competition in Tokyo (elementary school division) and the Umeko Tsuda Memorial Music Prize. Grand Prix.In 2018, she won the 72nd All Japan Student Music Competition (junior high school division); in 2019, she won the 3rd Mozart Competition for Young Musicians (Zhuhai, China); in 2020, she won the 7th Arion Toho Music Award; in 2021, she won the 90th Japan Music Competition; in 2022, she won the Iwatani Prize, the Leucadia Prize, the Sumi Prize, the Kuroyanagi Prize and the Masuzawa Prize. In 2022, she won the first prize and the Audience Prize at the 8th Sendai International Music Competition at the age of 17, the youngest ever, and attracted much attention. He has performed with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra, Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, Salzburg Chamber Soloists, and others to great acclaim.
