After that, he attended Josef Hoffmann's piano lessons and studied composition with Robert Fuchs at the Vienna Conservatory, where he received many prizes, including the \"Brahms Prize. After graduating from the conservatory, he began his career as a composer, writing over 600 works, including operas, symphonies, concertos, and songs. Levay was particularly fond of the sound of the guitar, which he often used to accompany his songs as well as the piano. This album contains all of Levay's sonatas for violin and viola that use the guitar as accompaniment. The melodies, which effectively use folk songs, are played with great emotion by Kayalei and Cork.
