The project, which has progressed in numerical order, has finally reached No. 7. Each time a different organ has been used, but this time the recording was made in Leipzig, where No. 7 was performed for the first time. The organ arrangement is by Erwin Horn, a regular contributor to the series. The first two movements are full of beautiful and long-lasting melodies, but the first movement is more pious than grandiose, and the second movement, which is a memorial to Wagner, is more meditation and prayer than lamentation. The power of the scherzo and the elaborate counterpoint finale are dynamic performances that make the most of the organ's characteristics, which are different from those of the first half. The recording was made at the Potsdamer Schucke pipe organ (the largest organ built in East Germany), which has 6,638 pipes and was installed in a hall inaugurated in 1981, and its magnificent sound is also worth listening to. This series, called \"Bruckner Fenster = Bruckner's Window,\" also includes new works inspired by Bruckner's music (only available in Vol. 5 due to recording time).Included here is the chorale prelude \"Te Deum\" by German composer Philipp Meinz, which also appeared in Vol. 0 and Vol. 4. It is a profound work using material from Symphony No. 7. The first prelude placed here is from 1884. It is a short organ piece of 27 bars, composed at the request of Dirnhäfer, a Perk leatherworker with whom Bruckner had a rapport during a visit to the Bayreuth Festival on the first anniversary of Wagner's death, and is based on C major but with prominent use of chromatic scales in Wagnerian style.
