The first edition of “Runa Okubo INCONCERT 2025” (CD+DVD) sold out to great acclaim. This disc is the CD version of that release. Runa Okubo has been recognized for her outstanding talent since childhood. This is the first solo CD released by this gifted young woman—who is currently attending both Keio University and Toho Gakuen University—as she approaches the end of her teenage years. Masterpieces for violin, including the violin sonatas by Schumann and Brahms, are performed with a delicate touch and great expressiveness, captivating listeners in tandem with the support of Eiko Mitsumata.\n\n\u003cruna okubo\u003e\nBorn in 2006. She began playing the violin at age 3, and her natural musicality has been highly regarded since childhood. She appeared on the TV Asahi series program “The Untitled Concert” in the segment “Concert of Child Prodigies 2017.” In February 2025, she was selected as concertmaster for the program’s 60th-anniversary special, “Concert of the Future Orchestra Nurtured by Kazuki Yamada,” and performed in that role. To date, she has performed with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, the Yokohama Sinfonietta, the Sibiu State Philharmonic (Romania), and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra under the guidance of Yuko Tanaka, Daisuke Soga, Masahiko Enkoji, and Kazuki Yamada. In September 2025, he was invited to perform with the Gwangju City Symphony Orchestra at a goodwill concert commemorating the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between South Korea and Japan. In December of the same year, he appeared in the “Takasaki Arts Theater: Naoto Otomo Presents T-Shot Series.”\nHe won first place in the Tokyo regional rounds of the 69th and 73rd All-Japan Student Music Competitions and third place in the national finals. Won first prize at the Tokyo regional round and second prize at the national finals of the 75th All-Japan Student Music Competition; at the 18th Romania International Music Competition, she won the Grand Prix in all categories, first prize in the string instrument category, the Concerto Prize, and the Audience Prize. She has received instruction from Akiko Suwanai at the “International Music Festival NIPPON” since its first edition.
