Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, with the lineup they had at the time of "We Are Only In It For The Money," began their second European tour in the fall of 1968 with a stop in Germany. While in Germany, on October 6, they recorded a 35-minute session for the television program "Beat Club," an all-instrumental, partially improvised performance of a theme that would appear on their 1969 album, Uncle Meat. Included are fragments of Five Tinos' "Don't Do That" and Wagner's "Lohengrin," which were supposedly performed especially for the German audience at that time. Also included is a 15-minute version of "King Kong" from the Essen Music Festival.
