He later moved to London, where in 1815 he became director of the London Philharmonic Society, which led Beethoven to commission his \"Ninth Symphony.\" After 1824, he returned to Germany to work as a composer and conductor, including conducting the \"Niederrhein Music Festival. He left behind works that bridged the gap from Viennese Classicism to Romanticism. This album contains two piano trios he wrote after his return to Germany from England: the \"Piano Trio in C minor, Op. 143\" from 1826 is a poetic slow movement with a technical first movement and a tarantella-like final movement that is impressive and full of song. The world premiere recording of the F minor Trio was composed in 1836. It is a daring music consisting of the first movement, which depicts a flow of emotions from despair to passion and peace, reminiscent of Beethoven, a calm second movement, a third movement that begins with Polish rhythms, and a gypsy-like final movement in which the themes are switched one after another.Trio Egmont, an ancient instrument ensemble founded in 2019, won first prize in the Beethoven in seiner Zeit, a chamber music competition with historical instruments held in 2021. They also received a special award from the Ferdinand Ries Society for their performance of Ries's Piano Trio Op. 2.
