The confident beginning of the album starts with M-1 by Bacharach and M-2 by The Beatles, followed by the royal road. M-3 by The Fortunes, M-4 by Len Barry, and the exhilaration of the female chorus interspersed with oldies standards. M-7, a familiar Ramsey Lewis cover, is followed by Barbara Lewis' M-8, Teddy Randazzo's hidden waltz-like masterpiece M-10,11, and finally Leslie Gore's M-12, a masterpiece with no throwaways. The bonus tracks are eight gems from the same period's albums from 1964 to 1966. All of them are in the golden lineage, but M-16 in particular tips its hat to Don Costa's string-driven dreamy bossa. The final track, M-20, a favorite of Sinatra, closes the album in silence.
