WHITE LION was a popular band in Japan during the 80's and early 90's. Vocalist Mike Trump and guitarist Vito Bratta were the core members of the band, which debuted in 1985 with "Fight to Survive". The band's next album, "Pride," was a smash hit with the singles "Wait," "Tell Me," and "When The Children Cry," and catapulted the band to stardom. The third album, "Big Game," also produced the band's signature songs, "Little Fighter" and "Cry for Freedom," but it was not as successful on the charts as the previous album. After the release of their fourth album, "Mane Attraction," the band disbanded in 1991. After the breakup, Vito Blatta retired from the music business, while Mike Trump became a solo artist after working with FREAK OF NATURE and other groups.For a time after that, there was a legal dispute with Vito over the right to use the band name, but Mike is now active under the name WHITE LION. Since then, Mike has released several re-recordings of past songs, and in 2023, he will re-record songs from the WHITE LION era in the form of "Songs of White Lion. In 2023, Mike's voice, which has matured through his many experiences, was reinterpreted in a new way, and the album was well received by the public. The second volume, Vol. 2, will include the songs that could not be included in Vol. 1.
