From the first time she played the instrument, she had an ambition to create an album that would be a testament to Bridge and his beloved pupil Britten, two composers and this special instrument that unites them both. When Britten was forced to leave on a ship for the United States at the outbreak of World War II, Bridge gave him a viola as a parting gift, and the two never saw each other again.
