John Glacier debuts on the hot new PLZ Make It Ruins label, run by Vegyn, a collaborator of Frank Ocean. The enigmatic artist says she chose her name because it is "as cold as ice". Her punky, poetic verses and sharp electronic pop songs are all intuitive and subtle at the same time. This debut album, which she co-produced with label owner Vegyn, is what she calls a "selfish" record, documenting "how I feel, what I'm going through, and how I want to live my life. This album is a document of her year-long process of healing and evolution. Each song is a reflection of a moment captured in a fleeting moment, revealing a different facet of John Glacier.Each song creates a completely different space, but the common theme of the album is reflection and processing, sort of like an ice-breaker."
