The two guest artists, Jean Wang and Jean-Claude Lacroix, both of whom have recorded extensively for the DG label, provide a rich narrative music based on their respective fine skills and rich expressiveness, and enhanced by the brilliant orchestration. The coupling is a suite from the ballet \"The Itinerant Knight\" by Ibert. The original work, composed in 1935, requires two narrators and a chorus, but about two-thirds of the elements have been reconstructed in this suite version. The saxophone plays an active role here and there, and the guitar also makes an appearance to create a Spanish atmosphere.
