This is the second album by the Keith Tippett Group, who were the standard-bearers of a new generation of British jazz musicians in the late 60s and early 70s, and who also had a major influence on the progressive rock scene, including session participation with King Crimson, where they remained in a key position in their sound. The second album of the Keith Tippett Group, which featured Gary Boyle on electric guitar, was a collision of aggressive rock sensibilities and a rapidly expanding free spirit, and the band's powerful, spiritual themes of peace and solidarity were combined with a ferocious performance that seemed to be the fruit of a passion for the progressive.
