The first half of the concert featured \"Brahms' Double Concerto. It features world-class soloists of the highest caliber. Lisa Batiashvili on violin and Gautier Capuçon on cello. It is said that this \"Brahms Double Concerto\" was composed as a \"Concerto of Reconciliation\" during Brahms' deteriorating relationship with his close friend Joachim, and the sheer beauty of the interplay between the two solo instruments allows the audience to enjoy Brahms' typical gravity and nostalgic singing spirit. Here, the two soloists and conductor Thielemann frequently exchange eye contact, creating a lively and realistic musical atmosphere. For the encore, the two duos performed \"Schulhoff: Duet for Violin and Cello - 2nd movement. Schulhoff is a Prague-born composer. After serving in World War I, he became devoted to Dadaism and jazz, and after a stint in Berlin, he returned to Prague to work energetically. This duet was written in Prague in 1925.It is dedicated to Janacek, with whom he had a close friendship in his later years. The second half of the concert features Tchaikovsky's Fantasy Overture \"Romeo and Juliet\" and Liszt's Prelude. Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet is an orchestral piece based on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, which was revised twice before being completed in 1880, and is now performed in its third and final draft, a charming work with a romantic melody. Liszt's \"Prelude,\" the most frequently performed of his 13 symphonic poems, was composed based on his \"Four Elements,\" a suite for male chorus. It is rendered with rich orchestral colors, and the silky, fine-grained sound of Dresden can be heard to the fullest.
