He was close to the Schumann family and even taught piano to the couple's daughter. Perhaps because of this, there is a clear Schumann or Brahms influence in Rudolf's \"Six Pieces\" and other pieces, but there is a unique expression and natural beauty in the salon-like sweetness and romantic violin melodies.
