He left many works for violin, including some of his own orchestral and piano pieces arranged for violin. The famous \"Dance of Death\" and \"Habanera\" in particular have a unique charm that differs from arrangements in which the orchestral parts are simply transferred to the piano. The album also includes arrangements by Bizet and Ysaÿe, which have a different flavor from Saint-Saëns' own arrangements. Track 8, \"Delilah's Song,\" was arranged in 1918 for violin practice by Queen Elisabeth of Belgium (1876-1965), a well-known music lover. This is the world premiere recording of this lovely little piece, as it was never published for the general public. Born in France, Fanny Clamazirand began playing the violin at the age of seven, and at eleven she won the first prize at the Louis Spohr International Competition, demonstrating her talent. He has won numerous prizes at competitions and has performed with many orchestras, including the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, and NAXOS has released two volumes of Saint-Saens' works for violin and piano and a collection of violin concertos, all to great acclaim.
