The Berliner Philharmoniker's \"Heroes\" tends to attract more attention because there are two different live performances of the December 1952 concert. However, in terms of overall sound quality, including dynamic range, the 1950 recording is superior to the two 1952 recordings, and perhaps the 1950 recording is the best of the three. Regardless of superiority or inferiority, both \"Alceste\" and \"Hero\" allow us to touch the essence of Furtwängler \u0026amp; the Berlin Philharmonic.
