Living on the streets from an early age, young people, including Tapper, had no choice but to fall into the hands of the political parties that controlled the various ghetto districts of the town.\n\n\n\nAnd music seemed to be the only way out of a life of crime and gang culture. The path he found by the mid-1970s was to establish himself as a well-known star on the DJ roots circuit.\n\n\n\nBack home in Jamaica, he also made a name for himself producing local singers and groups such as Prince Allah and Knowledge.
