In March 2020, Renaud Capuçon performed 56 days of violin masterpieces at home during the Paris Lockdown, which were distributed worldwide via social networking sites. Originally performed to share through music to Renaud's son, Elliott, the album is a new studio recording of 22 newly selected pieces to express his gratitude to Elliott. The exquisite use of lyricism and flexibility, the beauty of the music in these short pieces is highlighted by the beauty of the dunamics and the richness of the colors that emerge from them. In mid-March 2020, Paris, France went into lockdown due to the new corona virus. It caused anxiety and fear for many people. My son Elliot did the same, and to alleviate some of his anxiety, I asked him to write a short Dvorak play for me on his tablet. I then decided to deepen the sharing with music for Elliott each day. And as long as the endless climaxes continued, I set a goal for this important period of my life, when I tended to lose my direction. Together with my friend, the pianist Guillaume Berome, we played one piece every day for 56 days, always and at set times. It may have seemed like a ritual. We had the same love for the music and the same desire to lead in the right direction by continuing to share the music. The performances were distributed around the world through social networking sites every day, and every day many people listened to our performances, wrote to us, and expressed their appreciation. This album, "Violins in Paris," was for my son Elliott, and it was possible because of him. It is a selection of 22 pieces played during the most surreal of times. The album was one way of saying "thank you" and a way to relive the moment together, despite the pain and sadness, the fear, the anticipation, the anxiety. It was a little oasis of happiness. May these nearly 80 minutes of music bring you tranquility and comfort. With Guillaume, we experienced each note as a gift.July 2021, Renaud Capuçon (1/2) Warner Music Japan

Tracklisting:

1.Violin Sonata in D HWV 371~III.
