Safe Return\" is finally reissued for the first time. The opening track \"Lenox\" has a deep bass sound with a firm rhythm and a dopey atmosphere from the flanger and flute. The following track, \"Surinam Lady\", changes the dopey atmosphere to an AOR-style mellow groove with fresh gut guitar and flute that is full of songfulness, and the third track, \"Kaseko Attack\", has indigenous drums and a mellow electric piano that gives the song a somewhat Brazilian groove. This is an up-tempo number. The fourth track, \"Sisa,\" is a combination of spiritual jazz and rare groove (the deep reverb of the bells is the best part...), and \"Tukayana\" has a black groove like the soundtrack to a black movie. The funky bass line and upper drums of \"Djamba\" and the melodious development of \"Djamba\" are heavenly... and the album closes with \"A Safe Return,\" a peaceful, ethereal song that cools down all the heat.It is also interesting to note that this album was performed by Ronald Snijders alone, so it is one that seems to ooze with his groove and ideas.
