He received his doctorate with a thesis on Johan Svendsen. He is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Music at the University of Oslo, where he teaches composition, arranging, harmony, orchestration, and counterpoint.The magnificent oratorio \"The Lapse of Time\" performed at the \"Oslo Life Sciences Society 2022\" at the University of Oslo was made into a CD (Simax PSC 1392) and nominated for the \"Spelman Prize\" (Norwegian Grammy Award) in 2022.\n\n\n\nThe Norwegian Naval Band (SFMK) (Western Norwegian Military Band) is a \"professional\" band in the Norwegian Armed Forces. Known for the beauty of its melodic lines and harmonies and the power of its music, the band is deeply rooted in the musical life of the city of Bergen, where it is based. This is the second LAWO Classics album after \"The Armed Man\" (LWC 1223).\n\n\n\nThe orchestra features mezzo-soprano Astri Norstad and baritone Magnus Ingemun Scherstad, who studied at the Norwegian National College of Music and the Royal Danish Opera Academy; tenor Torbjorn Gulbransøy, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music in London; bass Magne Fremmel, a graduate of the Rogaland Conservatory in Stavanger; and bassist Kathleen Hartmann, who studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Music and the Royal Danish Opera Academy in Stavanger. and bass Magne Fremmelried, a graduate of the Rogalan Conservatory in Stavanger, and singers who are or have been soloists with the Norwegian National Opera.Conductor Byatte Engeset studied with Jorma Panula at the Sibelius Academy, where he received his diploma.
