As a thinker and teacher, Messiaen's accomplishments changed the world of music in the second half of the 20th century, and no one has yet surpassed him and his works. This CD, entitled "Homage to Messiaen," features not only Messiaen's works but also those of contemporary composers who inherited his musical language, allowing us to rediscover the charm and greatness of Messiaen's works from various angles.Conductor George Benjamin (b.1960) was trained by Messiaen at the Conservatoire. Metzmacher, who specializes in contemporary works, is also a focus of attention. The two skillfully draw colorful tones from an orchestra full of virtuosos. ［Comment courtesy of King International.

Tracklisting:

1.La plainte, au loin, du faune...
