Studied at the Vorarlberg State Conservatory with Eva Amsler, at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon with Philippe Bernold, and in Switzerland with Aurel Nicolet. Since 2011, she has been the principal flutist of the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.He also served as principal flute of the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra (2000-04) and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra (2005-11). As a soloist, he has performed with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the NHK Symphony Orchestra, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, and others. He has also worked with conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Fabio Luisi, Yakov Kreizberg, Dimitry Kitayenko, and Bertrand de Billy.\n\nHe also plays chamber music in various ensembles ranging from baroque to contemporary, and since 2013 he has succeeded Wolfgang Schulz as a member of the Ensemble Wien-Berlin and the Vienna Ring Ensemble.\n\nHe is a professor of flute at the Conservatorium of Private Music in Vienna, as well as a visiting professor at several schools.
