In the past, BBQ CHICKENS released a cover album titled "Fine Songs, Playing Sucks" in 2003, but this is the first time Ken Yokoyama has participated in a band. There was a time when cover albums were popular in the Japanese music scene, but it is typical of Ken Yokoyama to release this album at a time that is completely different from that trend. Originally, there must have been a will to release this kind of work. To begin with, Ken Yokoyama is a master of covers. Over the past few decades, he has gained as much acclaim for his arrangements of well-known pop songs as for his original compositions, adding spice to them that makes you want to laugh out loud, or bringing out new charm by giving them an unprecedented interpretation. This album, however, goes in a slightly different direction. It is titled "The Golden Age Of Punk Rock. It is a cover album with a clear concept, picking up songs from the golden age of punk rock. One cannot help but feel the utmost respect and love for punk rock when a veteran band like theirs, rather than a younger band, confronts punk rock classics head-on in this way. Because this is a cover album by a band with members as experienced as they are, the song selections are sure to attract a great deal of attention. The lineup, which was decided by the four band members after they came up with the idea, includes NOFX, Bad Religion, LAGWAGON, No Use For A Name, ALL, and RANCID, all of which are familiar to all punk kids of yesteryear. Even so, it is Ken Yokoyama who makes you wonder why those bands are not on the album. The choice of songs is also very interesting. The choice of songs is so interesting that it arouses my curiosity to ask the reason why each song was chosen. The sound also shows respect and love for the originals. No surprises. There are no laughs. I like the honest approach that stands out. I can't say which song is the best. The songs that get you hot will differ depending on who you listen to.It is also good that the lead song is NOFX "Stickin' in My Eye" NOFX has announced that they will disband after their tour which will end this October. Yokoyama's choice was made because of his respect for the band. The reason why we cannot accept this album as just a cover album or just a project album is because we can feel the band's strong will in it. Of course, the band's creative desire to release this kind of work is the most important thing. But it is also a way for Ken Yokoyama and his members, who have been at the forefront of the punk rock scene for many years, to return the favor to punk rock.

Tracklisting:

.Soothing
.It's A Fact
.Stickin' In My Eye
.Too Late
.International You Day
.I'm The One
.All My Best Friends Are Metalheads
.You've Done Nothing
.Time To Grow Up
.Roots Radical
.Crazy
.All The Small Things
.Break The Glass
.21st Century Digital Boy
.Holiday
.May16
