Sepultura, a Brazilian metal band born in 1984, has been taking the world by storm with its thrashy and tribal heavy sound. Sepultura left their old home at Roadrunner Records and signed a new contract with SPV, where they sharpened their heaviness and groove to define their new "Sepultura" sound full of themselves. Separtura is a metal act from Brazil that has reigned supreme in the heavy music scene with its electrifying sound and charismatic presence. Formed by brothers Max and Igor Cavalera, they have had a tremendous influence on subsequent thrash/nu-metal/groove metal acts through their insatiable pursuit of heaviness in the late 80s and 90s. Despite being an extreme heavy band, they have sold an astounding total of 20 million albums worldwide, making them a legendary act in the thrash world.After Max Cavalera left the band in 1996, the band welcomed Derrick Green as a new vocalist, and since then they have continued to release albums on various labels, transmitting their strong heavy groove to the world. Last December, they released a box set "SEPULNATION - THE STUDIO ALBUMS 1998-2009," a compilation of studio albums released from 1998 to 2009, the second period of their career. The album "ROORBACK", which was also included in the box set, is now being released as a stand-alone album. Like the box set, this album also features a 2021 remastered soundtrack with additional tracks from the 2002 cover EP "REVOLUSONGS". This "ROORBACK" is the third album for the lineup with Derrick Green as frontman, and the ninth album in total for Sepultura.This album, released after leaving their old label Roadrunner Records and signing a new contract with SPV, was a "fresh start," in part because of the label transfer, and it developed a sound with a linear heaviness and a sharpened groove that was unique to the band, and it showed a new Sepultura presence in the scene that far surpassed the "Max Cavalera or Derrick Green" idea that had always been discussed. This work showed the scene a new Sepultura presence that far surpassed the "Max Cavalera or Derrick Green" debate that had always been held up to that point. Also included in this release is the cover EP "Revolusongs," which was released in November 2002, just prior to the release of the current album, and which drew much attention for its Sepultura-style covers of songs by artists such as U2, Massive Attack, Divo, Exodus, and Hellhammer.
