The album is a library-music-flavored synth-pop~sound album influenced by John Carpenter's film "New York 1997," The B-52's "Cosmic Thing," YELLOW MAGIC ORCHESTRA, YES, late SOFT MACHINE, and Sega's arcade games like "Hang On," "Out Run," and Commodore 64 that he has enjoyed playing since he was a teenager. The title of the album is a reference to his childhood love of video games. The title was inspired by his favorite game book series as a child, the Fighting Fantasy books.
