The lament \"O mors inevitabilis\" written by Findels upon hearing the news of Josquin's death was very popular at the time, but even his birth and death dates are not known, making him one of the most mysterious composers of the Flemish school active in the first half of the 16th century. This CD includes two parody masses and a salve regina, both of which are based on popular songs of the time. According to the commentary (in English only), the Mass \"Now I Only Wait for Death\" has been attributed to Gombert, and the Mass \"The Brown Eyes of My Beloved\" was not attributed to Findels until recently. The Salve Regina from \"You are the Most Wonderful One\" has two original melodies, one praising the lover as \"incomparable on earth\" and the other from Gregorian chant, which is cleverly combined to form a hymn to the Virgin Mary. The \"original songs\" for each are also included, making it easy to understand the structure of the songs.
