The works selected are mostly from her Spanish, Latin American, and American roots, with a special affinity for the music of Dominican composer Rafael Solano and black composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, with whom she has a special affinity. Khachaturian's \"Aisha's Dance\" has also been a favorite of hers since she was 15 years old. The album closes with \"Aisha's Prayer,\" arranged especially for her by pianist Martin Labazevich. It is a beautiful medley of hymns, including \"Amazing Grace,\" which everyone knows. Aisha is also an honorary cultural goodwill ambassador for the Dominican Republic and is dedicated to charitable work to bring classical music to the socially disadvantaged.
