This release features “The Spider’s Thread,” an early work from his self-built synthesizer era that exudes a mysterious charm, accompanied by a reading of Ryunosuke Akutagawa’s “The Spider’s Thread.” It also includes “Chaos,” a revised new version of his 1966 analog electronic piece “Solar Wind,” created before he began using synthesizers. The original recording of “Solar Wind” contained many gaps due to its nature as a work intended for the stage, and Mr. Minami had been reluctant to release it. Therefore, now approaching the age of 80, he created a completely different revised version and named it “Chaos.” This title also refers to a work he created collaboratively with Satoshi Sumiya in the 1970s that was ultimately discarded.
