JAZZ Q is one of the most important bands in the Czech Rock/Jazz scene in the 70's. JAZZ Q PRAHA was the predecessor of JAZZ Q PRAHA, which had been active since the 60's, and continued to be active despite the severe political repression along with THE PLASTIC PEOPLE OF THE UNIVERSE. This is a live album released in '13 and re-released in '22. After the release of "SYMBIOSIS" in 1974, the rhythm section was replaced by Premysl Faukner (b) and Libor Laun (dr), and the new lineup performed at Park kultury a oddychu in Bratislava, former Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia) in February '75. The recording includes the performance of Park kultury a oddychu in Bratislava.While retaining the Eastern European coloration evident in the melodies/arrangements of his early/mid-70's work, he also released 'Zivi Se Divi', 'Zrava Dama', 'Mlyn', etc. on the later '77 compilation 'ELEGIE', '76 & '77 compilation 'JAZZROCOVA DILNA', 'MINI JAZZ', and 'KLUB 5', as well as on Eddie Harris' Freedom Jazz Dance'/Billy Cobham'Stratus'/MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA'Sanctuary', 'Zivi Se Divi', 'Zrava Dama', etc. The selection and composition of songs from "KLUB 5", Eddie Harris'Freedom Jazz Dance'/Billy Cobham'Stratus'/MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA'Sanctuary' covers, and the crossover and fusion music/compilation that developed in his later works are evident in this album. The entire album showcases the musicality and sound of the crossover/fusion line that has been developed in subsequent works. The sharp, high-tension performance/ensemble is excellent, interweaving soulful vocalization by Joan Duggan and thrilling improvised exchanges.
