The Violin Sonatas No. 1 and No. 2 were written in the early 1950s, inspired by the talents of the outstanding musicians of the time (Joseph Joachim, Ferdinand David, Clara Schumann) with whom Schumann interacted.From the F.A.E. Sonata, created in collaboration with Albert Dietrich and Johannes Brahms, the Violin Sonata No. 3 was completed by adapting movements from Schumann's work and adding new ones.
