Bach, present \"The Magnificat\" and \"The Christmas Cantata\" as their \"next achievement\"! John Batt and the Dunedin Consort have recreated the evening service at St. Nikolai's Church on December 25, 1723, the first Christmas after J.S. Bach arrived in Leipzig from Keten as Thomas Cantor. The evening service begins with a motet by Giovanni Gabrieli, continues with the organ prelude and \"Christmas Cantata BWV.63,\" and arrives at the \"Magnificat BWV.243a,\" the first draft version written in E-flat major. The entirety of J.S.
