It was recorded live at a local coffeehouse, the Catacombs, on March 6 and 7, 1971. The band consists of Camplin (guitar, vocals), Bob Mueller (drums), Ken Pfaff (bass, vocals), and Bruce Ridio (guitar). The vocals, which are warmly spoken with a hint of melancholy, and the infinitely simple accompaniment centered on his acoustic guitar, create a beautiful and serene space. Even though this is a live recording, his flavor and style have already been established here. All the songs, except for M5 by Ian Tyson (Ian & Sylvia, Great Speckled Bird), were written by Camplin.Producer Richard Paul Thomas is one half of the Wisconsin folk duo Susan & Richard Thomas, while Susan also produced the lyric cards that are also enclosed in a reduced version on this CD.

VIVID.
