DREXCIYA, the late James Stinson's third release on SUPERMAT, the experimental electronic music label started by TRESOR, was released in 2001 during the latter half of his career. THE OPENING OF THE CEREBRAL GATE" was released as the third album following CHRISTIAN VOGEL's work under another name. Reissued with new artwork 21 years after its release, this 3LP 180g heavyweight pressing is a must have. This is more than DREXCIYA, which pushed forward the experimental element of Detroit techno with electro, but it is a mechanical funk monster, futuristically deploying leftfield & avant-garde synths all over the place! The new artwork is by Matthew Angelo Harrison, a contemporary artist living in Detroit.
