Created to be \"listened to with intention,\" that is, to be experienced as a whole in the same way that one takes time to appreciate a painting or sculpture, this immersive album provides space to slow down and think deeply about the complex philosophical questions that confront our ever-accelerating and evolving world. It provides a space to slow down and think deeply.\n\n\n\nO'Halloran recorded the album at RRO Studios in Reykjavik, Iceland, with violin by longtime collaborator and fellow composer Brian Senti, a select eight-voice choir, and electronic production by Paul Coley (of \"Sigur Ros\"), recorded with the Budapest Art Orchestra, orchestrated by Roman Vinuesa. All mixed by longtime partner and sound engineer Francesco Donadello.\n\n\n\n1001 is a collaboration between dancer Fukiko Takase and choreographer Wayne McGregor, based on a ballet premiered in 2019, with the album completed during the pandemic.
