This time we have an oratorio by Johann Daniel Pucklitz, who had several faces: brewmaster, council musician, showman, manager, promoter, and composer, and above all, a devout Protestant. The work is extremely difficult and large in scale. It consists of two parts: a large symphonia in three movements, followed by a chorale and motet, and a gorgeous aria in which the soloist sings in high spirits. The work is an oratorio for the citizens of Gdansk, written by Puclitz himself. The finale is a grand finale, with magical music by glass harp and delicate tones by harp and cymbals that gently create a heavenly triumph.
