HELENA is a progressive rock band from Hammelfest, Norway, formed in 1971 by Fezza Ellingsen (g\/fl), who later joined HOST\/AKASHA, and Willy Bendiksen (drs), who was also active in the Norwegian hard rock scene, playing in HOST and FLAX\/JORN. ST.HELENA, a progressive rock band from Hammelfest, Norway, was recorded in 1974 but was put in storage and later released as an EP on Norway's Colours label in 1991.\n\nThis album was recorded at Scanax Studio in Oslo in 1974, and although the band was active in live performances, including participation in the Kalvøyafestivalen festival in their home country at the time, the band spontaneously disappeared without releasing any new material.Many years later, the album was finally released in 1991 as a limited edition of 500 analog copies by Colours, a label that, as mentioned above, was dedicated to the discovery of current Scandinavian progressive rock bands, but the limited pressing and the quality of the content have made it a premium item. In 2010, the original master tape was discovered, and two years later in 2012, Løwe Records released a remixed version on CD-R. However, it was also released in a limited edition of 150 copies and is still hard to find. This CD-R release contains both the original mix from 1991 and the remixed version from 2012, making it the definitive version of the album.\n\nThe sound is based on the powerful British hard rock of the same period, similar to HOST and AUNT MARY that colored the Norwegian progressive rock scene in the 70's, but with a twist of hard progressive rock with various song ideas and developments, including keyboards.The title track has a simple Scandinavian vocal style, but the drumming and guitar solos are very hard rock-like, and the jazzy number 'Concert No.2' features a tight rhythm section supporting a lively exchange of electric piano\/flute\/guitar. This is a hidden masterpiece that should be listened to by those who follow the Scandinavian prog rock of the 70's. The original mix was done by Giert Clarke. The original mix was newly remastered by Giert Clausen from the original master tapes.\n\n\n\nThe original mix was newly remastered from the original master tapes by Giert Clausen. 2CD set\/2022 Remaster(CD1 only)\/Digisleeve spec.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Norske Albumklassikere","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":51667537035553,"sku":"7059135211808","price":214.0,"currency_code":"MOP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/7059135211808.jpg?v=1757118660","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/en-mo\/products\/7059135211808","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
