The latest 2022 release by the Salt Pond City Band, formerly formed by Ebbo Taylor, Ghana's King of High Life! The Salt Pond City Band is thought to have originated as the backing band for the Salt Pond Bakers Choir, a chorus group formed during the production of Evo Taylor's gospel highlife classic "Me Kra Tsie" released in 1979. Now led by Evo's son, Henry Taylor, who plays keyboards and lead vocals, the band has released an eight-song album. T-1 is a classic highlife number with a horn ensemble that follows the dance band style of the 1960s and early 1970s, but T-2 is an Afrobeat number that Evo Taylor also played on, and T-3 is an Afrobeat number reminiscent of European and American revival bands, and Ajate in Japan. The Afro-funk T-3, which is reminiscent of European and American revival bands and Ajate in Japan, and T-5, the title track, give the impression that all of the songs have a strong funk and Afrobeat flavor with strong hooks and chime effects, making them ideal for DJ use as well.On social networking sites such as Subsk, YouTube, and Instagram, young Ghanaians and Nigerians in stylish African batik outfits such as Osaberima Big Band and Lavolta Stars, led by fellow Ghanaian Santrofi (=Santrofi), who had their physical release in 2020, have been forming highlife and juju bands.
