In 2022, the 40th anniversary of his music career, his seventh solo album, "Butterfly Mind" will finally be released!

The album was mixed and mastered by Steven Wilson, and features various guests including progressive rock legends such as Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) and Peter Hamill (Van der Graaf Generator), as well as a variety of other great guests.

In addition to the full-length album, the Japan Edition will also include an alternate mix version of two songs that have already been released digitally and have been garnering attention: "Always the Stranger" and "Dark Nevada Dream", as well as two bonus tracks exclusive to the Japan Edition: "Clearing Hoses", a song not included on the full-length album, and "Acker's Lane", a completely unreleased song recorded during the making of the album. Also included as Japan Edition exclusive bonus tracks are "Clearing Hoses" and "Acker's Lane," a completely unreleased song recorded during the making of the album. The Japan Edition also includes the bonus tracks "Clearing Hoses" and "Acker's Lane," which was recorded during the making of the album.

The album is a departure from the calm, ambient-oriented music of the previous album, with a strong post-rock/electro-pop flavor based on the aforementioned backups by talented musicians. While retaining Tim Bowness's characteristic fantastical and introspective worldview, the album is a work of the artist's utmost effort, with more colorful songs scattered throughout than ever before.

Imported Japanese version with Japan Edition bonus tracks and commentary

Tim Bowness - vocals, samples, synth, optigan guitar, mellotron

Brian Hulse - guitars, kbds, synth, programming

Nick Beggs - fretted & fretless bass, double bass, chapman stick

Richard Jupp - drums, perc

With

Ian Anderson - flute on 'Say Your Goodbyes, Pt. 1' & 'We Feel'

Peter Hamill - vocals on 'Say Your Goodbyes Pt. 1' & guitars on 'We Feel'.

Greg Spawton - bass pedals on 'After The Stranger'

Martha Goddard - backing vocals on 'Always The Stranger' & 'After The Stranger' & 'Glitter Fades'

Nicolas Alessini - sax on 'It's Easier To Love'

Ben Coleman - violin on 'Dark Nevada Dream' & 'About The Light That Hits The Forest Floor' & 'Say Your Goodbyes, Pt. 2'

Saro Cosentino - sampled strings/string arrangement on 'It's Easier To Love'

Devon Dunaway - backing vocals on 'It's Easier To Love' & 'We Feel' & 'Dark Nevada Dream'

Dave Formula - hammond organ on 'it's easier to love' & 'Dark Nevada Dream', synths and piano on 'Only A Fool', organ on 'Say Your Goodbyes Pt. 2'

Stephen W.
