This album is the second collection of her string quartets (the first one...8.572806), and there have been other albums released on the NAXOS label, mainly \"symphonies for strings,\" so we hear her works much more often than we did a few years ago. This second collection includes the 4th, 2nd, and 3rd symphonies. This second collection contains three string quartets, No. 4, No. 2, and No. 5, all of which are avant-garde, but all of them are impressive in that they all have surprisingly beautiful melodies that appear for a moment. The opening of No. 4, in particular, has a nostalgic, folk-song-like quality (though it is quickly drowned out), and its soft expression continues directly into the second movement. This delicate sound, which is so delicate that it could collapse at the slightest exertion, may be her signature.The surprisingly lively third movement is derived from Polish folk dances. This work has won first prize at the International String Quartet Competition in Belgium, among others. The second quartet, written during World War II, is a hopeful work written in the midst of a miserable life. Both the second movement, Andante, and the third movement, Allegro, are written without failure. However, the fifth quartet from 1955 seems to have completely parted from his earlier style, blending into an enigmatic and profound landscape.
