Mozart Live. The Requiem uses a supplemented and completed version by German composer Michael Ostsiga. Ostsiga's version was completed in 2019 and performed at the Rheingau Festival, and was subsequently recorded under the direction of Florian Helgert (COVIELLO CLASSICS), but this recording is the first time the score published by Bärenreiter in 2022 was used. The Ostsiga edition is based on the Jussmeyer edition, but as in the Beyer edition, the Jussmeyer oversimplifications and overly dramatic expressions have been eliminated, and the orchestration has been modified to reflect the influence of Handel and Bach, which were prominent in Mozart's later years, while referring to other religious works Mozart left behind. Many modifications were also made to the orchestration. The \"Lacrimosa,\" \"Sanctus,\" and \"Benedictus\" are also characterized by the fact that they give the performers a choice of manuscripts.Unlike the Helgert recording, Nelson has chosen to use a version similar to the Jussmeier version, with no Amen fugue for \"Lacrimosa\" and a D major manuscript for \"Sanctus\". However, especially after \"Sanctus,\" the overblown expressions and phrases are mercilessly cut, the size of the music is changed, and there are many parts that are very different from the \"Requiem\" that we are used to hearing. Nelson's interpretation of the score is very clear, and the high quality of the performances, especially by the vocalists, combined with the clear recording, makes for a very beautiful performance.
