Malvezzi, who was in charge of the Medici family's banquet music, was the central figure, while the younger generation of composers who opened the door to Baroque music, such as the genius composer Marenzio of Madrigale, Pelli, Caccini, and Cavalieri, also contributed music to the work. The program is not centered on solo singing as in opera, but consists of short pieces and dances centered on Madrigale-style singing, but the fact that the history of the eve of opera can be traced back to 1589 is not to be overlooked. Capriccio Stravagante's achievement is to get to the bottom of this work with a small vocal ensemble.
