Haydn, who established the string quartet form and is sometimes called the \"father of the string quartet,\" composed the \"Solar Quartet\" in 1772, which consists of six pieces. The name comes from the picture of the sun on the cover of the edition published by Hummel in Amsterdam, and although it has nothing to do with the content, it is widely loved as one of the important works that show the change of Haydn's style during the \"Sturm und Drang\" (fast and furious) period.
