This is the first solo album by singer/songwriter/drummer=Maria Portugal, who has been active in the Brazilian music scene for over 20 years and is a member of the São Paulo avant band Quartabay, which also includes Joana Queiroz! This is her first European release, as she has been based in Duisburg, Germany in recent years. This is a fascinating work, full of warmth of the flesh voice, industrial coolness, fragility, and experimental spirit.
