This work was inspired by the picture book "Moving Animals" by British artist Paul Spooner, a master of creating moving sculptures. Johannes Schmeling found it a fascinating challenge to capture in his music the merriment of these adorable creatures as they playfully roll around and frolic innocently. The soundscape is more avant-garde and pop-oriented than the lyrical and emotional elements of Tangerine Dream. The Woodpecker," which sometimes sounds oriental, "The Wedding Cake," with its distorted guitar, and "The Zoo And Jonas," dedicated to his son who was born in 1987, are included on the album.
