Franziska Freischendel, an Austrian who is currently active as a virtuoso and researcher of the sartelio, explores the relationship between Vivaldi and the sartelio in this work. It turns out that while Vivaldi was at the famous Ospedale della Pieta (Pieta Academy) orphanage in Venice, two sartelios were purchased, plus a teacher was hired specifically for the sartelio. So even if Vivaldi did not dedicate a piece directly to this instrument, we can assume that the virtuoso girls, \"unafraid of any instrument,\" interpreted the maestro's works on the sartelio. For this work, Freischendelle sought out concertos from Vivaldi's oeuvre that were particularly suited to her instrument. Enjoy the blissful sound that Il Dolce Conforto creates with the Sartelio, played by virtuoso musicians in a variety of techniques.
