Born in Boylston, Massachusetts in 1987, Zaleski has been a member of the Brubeck Institute and the Brubeck Quintet. He studied at the Brubeck Institute and the prestigious New School, and was a finalist in the Cole Porter Fellowship in Jazz and a semi-finalist in the 2011 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition. In 2016, he successfully toured Japan with his trio on a 7-stop tour of Japan, and also toured Japan with NY-based violinist Tomoko Omura. The rhythm section consists of bassist Desmond White, with whom he has collaborated since college and who has played on two previous Sunnyside albums, and drummer Alan Menard, whom he respects as a timekeeper. The band is fronted by longtime friend Lucas Pino on saxophone and trumpeter Adam Offeril, who grew up in a musical family and has suddenly gained attention in recent years. The ensemble's neat touch and beautiful sense of harmony, as well as its intelligent compositions and arrangements, give the ensemble a stylish, post-bop flavor that is grounded in traditional jazz. The same melody is presented in different rhythms at the beginning and at the end of the piece to create a storyline, and M2, which is based on the chord progression of "Giant Steps," shows the poetic piano trio in a waltz and the melody of the two wind ensemble in an antagonistic performance that builds in tension, The performance was well-constructed with intelligence. Two cover numbers were also performed. On M 4, a Dave Brubeck song that has been a great inspiration for the band, the beautiful melody of the song is neatly rendered in a slow tempo, showing a ballad performance that shows a depth of respect for the song. Pianist James Williams, who has played in many Legends groups including Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, gives a straight-ahead, swingy performance in medium to up-tempo, giving the piece a three-dimensional feel. The sixth number, featuring Yotam Silverstein, also features a medium bossa. He is now in his early 30s. This is a piece that expresses ideas in a variety of forms. We look forward to more in the future.

Tracklisting:

.The Question
.Backstep
.Smoke and Mirrors
.Strange Meadow Lark
.Subterfuge
.BK Bossa Nova
.Road Life
.The Answer
