Sadistic Mica Band

Description:

This is the 50th anniversary of the band's debut in 1972 and the release of their first album "Sadistic Mika Band" on May 5, 1973 (their debut was the single "Cycling Boogie / Aurora Girl" released on June 21, 1972). This is an analog reissue project featuring the latest remastered versions of works released by the rare rock band formed by Kazuhiko Kato on Toshiba EMI. Following the "1973-1976 Analog Box" (released on July 26, 2023), which focused on the first phase of the band, this project focuses on the second phase, when the band reformed with Karen Kirishima on vocals. The 1989 album "Tenharu", which includes the hit song "Boys & Girls", and "Seiten Live in Tokyo", which includes the legendary two-day live performance at Tokyo Bay NK Hall with the album, will be reissued in analog format. The members of the second phase of Sadistic Mika Band were Karen Kirishima (Vo), Kazuhiko Kato (G,Vo), Rei Obara (Ba,Vo), Yukihiro Takahashi (Dr,Vo), and Masayoshi Takanaka (G). The band's English name during this period was "Sadistic Mica Band. This is the first time that "HARUTEN Live in Tokyo" has been released on LP, and it is also the first time that the concert's opening number, "Dontaku," which was originally not included on the CD, has been included on this 2LP set. The audience's cheers when the stage lights were turned on at the opening of the concert were impressive. The two albums, "Sunny Day" and "Sunny Day Live in Tokyo," were remastered by Yoshinori Sunahara, who is a trusted member of the band, and the sound source was cut at half speed by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios in London to a 180g vinyl LP. An analog box set is finally available, which includes the LP with the redesigned gatefold jacket artwork and a photo book containing previously unpublished photos, in a luxurious three-sided box. The sensational reunion album and the legendary live performance will be revived in the best sound quality.
